My cat

We’re taking my cat Bug to the vet tomorrow morning because she’s pretty ill. She had some sort of urinary tract infection that inexplicably went from “almost better” to “much worse” in just a few days, so we called around and found a vet that had an opening for tomorrow.

It’s an unexpected expense, but fortunately I was able to scrape together the $193 the vet wants for the visit, blood work, and miscellaneous stuff. However, any prescriptions or other medical procedures will be additional charges on top of that, and I’m a bit worried about being able to cover those additional costs. If you know anyone who might be interested in supporting the spaceport set or picking up one of the shuttle variations, I’d be grateful if you could spread the word.

12 years ago, when she was a kitten, she decided she wanted me to be her best friend and she turned me into a cat person. This is hitting me pretty hard, and I’m not dealing with it very well emotionally. Posting about it helps a little.

I hope she’ll be okay.

Update: She didn’t make it. She passed away around 7:20PM CST. I was on the sofa with her when it happened. Thank you, everyone who helped out and sent us messages of support.

Best luck with it… one of my GF’s cats died a month ago with (don’t know the english term) obstruction of blood transit on the back legs and tail… he managed to survive for some days but finally died. He (Puck) was only 7 years old but he got a fragile health.

He suffered the same problem as Bug for many times and he managed to go back to his cat’s life locked and loaded for a non stop truck-motor-imitation 🙂

His death was hard and sad… but that’s how Nature works, and the best for us is that Puck died after a happy (but short) life and with the ones who love. So, everything is as it should be.

Nothing else to say except… best luck and best wishes for Bug!

I wish you and Bug the best. We lost our furry friend Ginger this last winter she was 19.

Thanks, guys. It means a lot to me that you guys helped and wished her well.

She didn’t make it. I gotta take care of things now. But thank you, everyone.

Sorry man. I’ve lost lots of cats and dogs through the years. The good they bring you is worth it though.

Sorry to hear that Chris. It’s never easy to lose a family member. Will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Jon

Chris, I am so sorry for your loss. I know how it is, last month my Biscuit passed away. She had feline leukemia, so it wasn’t unexpected, but still…. Take comfort that you gave Bug a wonderful home, and she was loved.

Losing a pet is always hard, even if expected. I lost Maxine last fall (I didn’t name her). She would have been 20 in March. Pets become family. Just like family, they can bring joy and they can annoy the bejeebers out of you, but you come to have great affection for them. Treasure your memories.

Thank you, everyone. It was a rough night for both of us.

I didn’t want to just plant her in the backyard on a rental property, so we’re having her cremated this afternoon. We might not have been able to save her, but at least we can do this for her.

I’ll also be posting a memorial to her with pictures later today. She was a good cat, and I miss her a lot.

    I’m sorry Chris 🙁

Can’t add anything what hasn’t already been stated. Once again, sorry for your loss!

Chris, it’s always a kick in the head when this happens. All I can say is, she undoubtedly had a happy life with you and your lady. Speaking from experience, you’ll never forget her, but the pain of your loss will eventually diminish. Keep well, and all the best.

Belated condolences, Chris. I hadn’t checked the website for several days. And yeah, been there, done that, too.
